FLAG FOOTBALL  & CHEER OBJECTIVE

The primary purpose of the Youth Flag Football & Cheer program is to provide an opportunity for 5, 6 & 7 year olds of Lawrence & the Greater Merrimack Valley to participate and enjoy the game of football & Cheer in an organized, fun atmosphere. The FLAG Football & Cheer program is designed to educate young people about football & Cheer while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Players learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field. We believe that players of this age should learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun & safe atmosphere before moving up to the tackle division. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork.

Mission Statement

Mill City Youth Football & Cheer INC. has been established to provide a structured and supervised football and cheer program for the youth of the City of Lawrence and Greater Merrimack Valley area. The League will strive to implement the ideals of good sportsmanship with an emphasis on teamwork, honesty, loyalty, courage and scholastics.  These ideals are put forth in order to develop positive values in becoming stronger, healthier, self-confidant and responsible members of the community.

Objective

To allow kids to have fun playing football with their friends, in an organized fashion, with safety a main element of consideration. The skills sets developed will include passing, receiving, blocking, offensive and defensive position play, and an overall athletic development in football.

Moving Forward

We would like to say Thank You to the 50 to 60 parents, children, friends and family who attended our monthly meeting last night. This shows me football is alive and well in this area and I am Proud to be part of something so exciting, with this continued support the league will flourish. It was extremely positive to see everyone talking after the meeting and discussing how everyone can help, not only the league but each other. This was not intended to be a registration meeting but an informational meeting, I am pleased to announce that 24 registration folders were handed out "Thank You". We look forward to hearing from you again with any questions, concerns or feedback.

Thank You
Eric Glew & Mill City Jr Maulers
